Use of cookies by this site

This Cookie Law is amended privacy legislation that requires websites to obtain informed consent from visitors before they can store or retrieve any information on a computer or any other web connected device.

It has been designed to protect online privacy, by making consumers aware of how information about them is collected by websites, and enable them to choose whether or not they want to allow it to take place.

Cookies are used by almost all websites, for a variety of purposes :

Analysis of visitor behaviour (known as 'analytics')
To personalise pages and remember visitor preferences.
To manage shopping carts in online stores.
To track people across websites and deliver targeted advertising.

The table below explains the cookies we use and why.

This cookie is used to hold the unique session ID which is generated every time our site is visited. This cookie is deleted when you close the browser.
Google __utma stores each user's amount of visits, and the time of the first visit, the previous visit, and the current visit (presumably partly for double checking of this information).

We use YouTube to embed a selection of videos on our blog as well as our 'About Us' section. The embedded videos do not set cookies themselves and can be played with no cookies set. However, if the 'Share' button is clicked YouTube will set these two cookies. The VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE cookie attempts to estimate your bandwidth and the use_hitbox cookie increments the 'views' counter on the YouTube video. These cookies don't gather information that identifies a user.
This cookie is set by YouTube and is a 3rd party cookie served by the domain youtube.com. It may be set when a visitor to this website clicks the 'Share' button on an embedded YouTube video. This cookie may be used by YouTube to store session preferences that relate to your activity when watching the embedded videos. These cookies don't gather information that identifies a user.
